Each digit in the key points to a position in the original order. Where the digit sits in the key is where that shape goes in the new order.
Key 2 4 3 1: the 1st slot gets shape 2 (Triangle), the 2nd gets shape 4 (Square), the 3rd gets shape 3 (Cross) and the 4th gets shape 1 (Circle).
